When you see them, you'll fall in love too!!!

Our story begins late one night at work when we got a wild idea to find a furry,
fuzzy kitten for Cheryl's daughter, Tori. Cheryl owns a pizza restaurant, and she
and I became friends while working together. Because of Cheryl's work schedule,
she didn't have enough time to look for that furry kitten, so I
surprised her by searching for her.

I found a breeder about 200 miles away. She was the only one "close" enough with
kittens ready to go. Since Cheryl needed the kitten the following day for her
daughter, off we went—at midnight, no less—on our journey to retrieve our prize.
We were either determined or demented. (We say determined but Cheryl's boyfriend,
Eric, says definitely demented.)

The trip was long and we were goofy-tired laughing at ourselves and questioning
our sanity. But that little issue was resolved the moment we entered the cattery. The
sight was unbelievable: gorgeous cats everywhere we looked and precious babies
that stole your hearts. We had a hard time choosing, to say the least. We wanted
them all!

It being early morning—4am, to be precise—Mrs. Landers kindly narrowed our
choices down to the three that were ready for a new, forever family. Cheryl chose a
beautiful black and white boy and we headed for home. Cheryl had her kitten and
Tori received her precious gift.

After the trip, I found myself exhausted and with no kitten for myself.  Having no
kitten just wouldn't do, so I went on another search and found a beautiful Tortie  in
St. Louis.

And so, we got our start. Cheryl with a boy and I with a girl led us to the cattery
we have today.
My daughter Toni is now a part of our cattery. Her deep love for
animals makes her the perfect partner.
Through long nights of study and research,
we have learned a lot about our cats and the breed. We have worked very hard to
make our cattery a wonderful, loving, happy and healthy home for our male and
female breeder cats.

You may ask, why a cattery? Well, that's a question that’s been asked of us by many
people. After all, there are all those litter boxes and baths, brushing, vet visits, shots,
worming, and taking temperatures—and let me say right now that cats do not like
having their temperature taken! There are good days, sweet precious days, and a few
sad days, when we have lost a new baby.
Frustrating, trying to get a cat to pose
pretty for pictures
.That is no easy task!!  Through it all, we have found this venture
most rewarding and satisfying: sweet little babies born, watching them grow,
kissing them everyday, and finding loving homes for them. I can't express in words
the joy that comes from placing a kitten in the loving arms of a new family. The
excitement, the squeals of delight, the thousand thank yous—so wonderful and
special to experience.

Now that we are getting into showing, Toni and I have found it such fun and
truely addicting!!We have found new wonderful friends, and mentors, learned so
much more than we ever imagined, and hopefully will see our hard work displayed
in a Cheravels Cat Granding.

We know that at the end of the day, when your precious cat crawls into your lap
and purrs, you
'll experience an unconditional love like no other, and you fall in love
too!

Thank you Eric for building a wonderful home and cattery for our cats
(you are the man!!)
